Maggie Brown

Maggie Brown is a parent and long time resident of Mattapan. She is a community activist for CORI reform and securing jobs for the under and unemployed. In 2006 she was trained by the Massachusetts Law Reform Institute as a resident CORI advocate. She was recently elected as the chair of the Legislative Committee for the Boston Workers Alliance after serving as the CORI Chair since December of 2006. During this time she has helped educate dozens of city and state legislators about the CORI and helped advise the Executive Office of Health and Human Services on their CORI regulations. She serves on the board for many organizations, including Jobs With Justice (JWJ), Women Institute Leadership and Development (WILD), and Boston Housing Authority (RABB). Maggie is currently a union organizer with the American Federation of Teachers (AFT).
